ABOUT us

What began in the backyard of founder, Fena Fenelon’s home, hosting just over 100 people, has since evolved into one of the most anticipated cultural events in the city, drawing crowds of over 3,000 attendees. This growth is a testament to the community’s unwavering support and the cultural significance of the festival.

BLVCKTOBERFEST has grown into a Boston-wide tradition that unites people from across the region and the country for a weekend of commemorative experiences that center Black voices.

OUR CORE VALUES

At the heart of BLVCKTOBERFEST lies a commitment to community, creativity, and cultural legacy. These values guide everything we do — from partnerships to programming — and reflect the spirit of the people we serve.

  • We honor the beauty, brilliance, and impact of Black culture — our stories, our joy, our power.

  • We foster connection, economic growth, and opportunities for our people, always putting the community first.

  • We provide a platform where artistry, innovation, and individuality are not only welcomed — they are central.

  • We amplify underrepresented voices and create intentional pathways for inclusion across all experiences.

  • We reflect the spirit of the culture: turning challenges into creativity and making something out of nothing — and making it fly.

  • We are shaping history — crafting a cultural legacy that educates, uplifts, and lives far beyond the event.

About The Sofenomenal Agency Group

As a woman owned and led full-service branding agency, we focus on building bold brands for new and pivoting businesses nationally. With keen attention to detail we strategically design visuals that enhance the brand story and build a connection between business and consumer.

Our innate creativity combined with our branding expertise allows us to uniquely create safe, commemorative experiences for the community we represent. In collaboration with key leaders, national partnerships and the support of trusted global brands we’ve had the privilege of executing events such as the Embrace MLK Statue Unveiling, The Connecticut Sun Block Party to commemorate the first WNBA game played at TD Garden and The Black Outside Block Party, where we celebrated a Downtown Crossing takeover, in collaboration with Kickback Boston & Bent with the support of The City of Boston & Downtown Boston Bid.

Our motto is simple, we believe in “BRANDING THE WORLD WE WANT TO SEE.”
